Satisfied in Christ.

Matthew 10:17-18
17 "Be on your guard against men; they will hand you over to the local councils and flog you in their synagogues. 18 On my account you will be brought before governors and kings as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles.

I wonder if you read the right post yesterday. Every once in a while there's always one that haunts me and posts randomly that I'm not ready to post yet and I noticed that yesterday morning. I recommend that you read yesterday's real post about God's presence if that's not what showed up yesterday.

Anyway, we're promised by Jesus that we will suffer. That is the case even though the situation in Matthew 10 may be hard to comprehend. For many people, there is no shortcoming to the fact of suffering right now. The Haitian people are really experiencing difficult times. Those who survived the earthquake are now struggling day to day because of the lack of food and water.

Even though great pain arises when we struggle, let it benefit you in at least one way, such as a lesson that is learned as a result.

It doesn't matter where you are, you won't be able to avoid certain disasters. Even if the people in Haiti were in the little shelter they had, thinking they'd avoid any dangers on the streets, they couldn't withstand the wrath of Mother Nature.

As followers of Christ, we have to understand that suffering occurs and we should be filled with joy. If you get to know God, and are in a relationship with him, that helps significantly. God can help you through anything: big or small. He can help secure your life so that suffering doesn't knock you completely off your feet. There is no point in being fearful or discouraged when you can have the love of God within you. Remember, you should have eternal joy each day because God promises eternal salvation in him.

Faith is satisfying. While the joy from sinning may be short-lived, the joy in Christ will last forever and ever. So, in many ways in Christ we may experience more pain that doesn't mean God has gone astray. We need to be joyful not when we escape pain and suffering, but when you consider the fact that we have eternal joy and satisfaction in Jesus Christ.

I've got two good songs I want to share with you today and tomorrow. Today's song will be "Rain Down" by Delirious.

P.S. If you have trouble with the video stopping and starting, keep the video paused, and let it "buffer" (load) as it's called for a while. You will see the red bar along the bottom advance (speed depends on your Internet connection). Wait until that bar gets pretty far along (I'd say more than halfway) before you play the video and it shouldn't pause.
