Aching for God.

Isaiah 26:9
9 My soul yearns for you in the night;
in the morning my spirit longs for you.
When your judgments come upon the earth,
the people of the world learn righteousness.

We often like the idea of escaping reality. For many people, it was in the last couple weeks because it was Christmas. Millions traveled out of town and had other ideas other than home on their agenda for Christmas. It never fails: it's always great while it lasts. However, there's nothing like sleeping in your own bed. That along with being homesick may be some of the few things that we miss while we're away.

Whatever the case, I know we've all missed someone or something. Our heart just aches to be reunited with those dreams and desires even if it's just that one thing.

Does your spiritual life ache as you long to be with God? Do you have an aching to be in his presence? Sometimes God is the missing part of our soul that we need to remind ourselves of everyday.

Sure, we get spiritually hungry sometimes and that's good. It shows a growing relationship with God. Fill this chilly void by spending time with God acknowledging his name and presence. Additionally, declare your true desires and affections to the Lord day after day.
