Mind Games.

Galatians 6:9
9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Did you ever notice that our mind can play tricks on us? Many times it has to deal with deception and sense perception. Have you ever seen a list of those incredible illusions? You look at black boxes with a white background and they appear to be gray. This is an example of our mind deceiving us (I guess actually it's the issue with how our eyes see things and how our brain interprets it).

This weariness is just a part of living day to day. Weariness and deception are two characteristics of Satan...some of his best work. Given how busy our day is, it seems nice to stop and give someone a helping hand just like Jesus would, right? Satan doesn't think so. It's not just your eyes or your mind that's tricking you: it's the thief. It's Satan. He tries so hard everyday to steal our best judgment.

Thank God, that he can renew us. He can light our fire again even if Satan tries or successfully takes away our desire to be kind and help others. God can renew us thanks to his Holy Spirit which is in us. He does it through his Word. He does it through our prayers. He does it through our favorite worship songs. Finally, he does it through his presence.

Our spirits tend to get weary, but don't let God's hands and feet grow weary. Serve the Lord with great discipline and faith. God's mercy and love will provide us with the energy and motivation to do these great works. Chances are, if something seems beneficial and positive, God wants you to follow through with that task.

Oh Lord, grant us with your wisdom when we are tired, confused, and pressed for time today. Help us to glorify your name.

Today's extraordinary song is "What Faith Can Do" by Kutless. Let God have control of your life through great faith.

P.S. If you have trouble with the video stopping and starting, keep the video paused, and let it "buffer" (load) as it's called for a while. You will see the red bar along the bottom advance (speed depends on your Internet connection). Wait until that bar gets pretty far along (I'd say more than halfway) before you play the video and it shouldn't pause.
