John 10:27-28
27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand.
Since we know the Lord, we are fairly safe. Jesus still encourages that we remain faithful in him until we die. So, while we are safe in his arms, we are also on the brink of falling away all the time.
How can we possibly be on the brink of falling away? That's easy to answer: If we think we can survive alone without Christ or if we don't rely on his Word to guide us everyday. However, if we have learned to lean on God for understanding, then the blood of Christ will cover us in righteousness and we are very secure.
Too many have died without God because they have separated themselves from the good news of Christ. They give into the devil's schemes which claim that they don't need God by their side every second of every day.
My advice today is to be extremely careful. We can be so gullible into thinking that the devil isn't waiting for us to give in to Satan. Still, when we're weak, God's strong. His blood removes our sinful stains. When we are clumsy, he holds us tightly.
So, to end the "God promises" series, sure there are many more, but I think I mentioned the most important ones. The thing is to remember these promises and trust the Lord. These promises make it worth it to live our lives and change our worldly life into one of Christ!
