Doing: Watch the Tongue.

James 1:26
26 If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless.

I think what's significant about today's reading is the whole religion vs. relationship idea. Surely you've heard fellow Christians claim that "it's not a religion, it's a relationship with Christ." I can validate that statement 100 percent. We can say that we believe in God, but if it's not seen in our actual relationship then it's worthless. The point is that God reaches us through his son Jesus Christ and deems us as his children. He's not just simply a God, he's our God and our father.

James says that the best way to see how our relationship with God has changed us is by recognizing the words that come out of our mouths. If you speak without much thought, then that's a sign that Christ-like behavior has not been established in your heart and mind.

However, as I say all the time, be true to yourself. If your religion, or better yet your relationship with God doesn't hold back your tongue, don't fool yourself. Just realize that your beliefs aren't influencing your mouth at this point. Ask God for help.

Take some time to reflect on your life. Since you introduced faith into your life, have you noticed that your words and actions have been kind and a reflection of Jesus? Lord, may everyone see how an honest relationship will yield to an honest transformation - much like that of Jesus.

P.S. If you have trouble with the video stopping and starting, keep the video paused, and let it "buffer" (load) as it's called for a while. You will see the red bar along the bottom advance (speed depends on your Internet connection). Wait until that bar gets pretty far along (I'd say more than halfway) before you play the video and it shouldn't pause. P.S.
