Doing: Freedom and Rules.

James 1:25
25 But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it—he will be blessed in what he does.

Don't get the wrong idea about today's Bible verse. Here's how people go wrong... It's not a fortune cookie that you'd open up at your favorite Chinese restaurant. Nor is it saying that God is a genie that you can reach through the Bible. Just because you try and obey every last thing the Bible asks of us, doesn't mean God is going to grant us all of our wishes and dreams.

Here's what you should realize: You know how people always say that there is not a manual for life? Well, contrary to popular belief, I like to consider the Bible to be the closest thing to that. The Bible is a very powerful book to read because it provides one, solid direction for everyone to follow from the creator of life. He knows exactly how we are and he knows exactly what we need!

It is a blessing to live according to the words of the creator of the universe because he tells you how he expects life to be. It should be perfectly logical to live according to God's words, not just a mere promise.

How often do you resent what God tells you in his manual for life, AKA the Bible? It's not like you would ignore the warning labels on your favorite piece of technology, so why would you ignore God? Lord, may we appreciate the guidance you offer us.

Talk about powerful..watch this! It features Josh Groban's song "You Raise Me Up." I know someone needs to see this video today.

P.S. If you have trouble with the video stopping and starting, keep the video paused, and let it "buffer" (load) as it's called for a while. You will see the red bar along the bottom advance (speed depends on your Internet connection). Wait until that bar gets pretty far along (I'd say more than halfway) before you play the video and it shouldn't pause. P.S.
