Doing: No Way Out.

James 1:21
21 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.

I always despised those mazes that were in coloring books as a kid. I would get so confused and lost. Of course the goal is to get through the maze, to the other side so that you can finish it and feel accomplished. For every dead end you hit (which for me felt like every single one), it takes that much longer to complete the maze!

In the book of James, he really hopes that our goal is to follow the righteous plan and desire of God. If that's not our priority, then this book is essentially meaningless to us. Take for example, our language. If you have no control over your mouth and use God's name in vein, then obviously this book won't apply to you very much. Even our anger leads us to a dead end. The choices we make doesn't please God at all.

Today's post is talking about moral filth and evil. How do you get to the other side of that? The Word of God. Don't ignore it unless you want to be faced with countless dead ends which I'm guessing would frustrate you and just about anyone.

Many of the choices we make fail because they don't take us in the direction that we want: sometimes backwards or the opposite way. Keep God nearby so you can get through the maze!
