Brooke Fraser.

Colossians 3:23-24
23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

Brooke Fraser is a New Zealand born pop/indie artist who now lives in Australia. She doesn't consider her music Christian, but I've heard some of her songs on the Christian radio. The lyrics may not mention God, but she knows that there is one true God out there. She is a Christian and has contributed songs to her church.

Fraser's faith is particularly seen in her servanthood and dedication to others. She is a World Vision artist. World Vision is a Christian relief organization that has a goal "to follow our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in working with the poor and oppressed to promote human transformation, seek justice and bear witness to the good news of the Kingdom of God." She has even advertised World Vision's 40 hour famine. It's a worldwide effort to raise money for famine. There were local church churches all over the U.S., including around where I live, who participate in this event annually (this year's was just about 6 weeks ago).

Not only is today's scripture Brooke Fraser's favorite, it describes her role in God's kingdom very well. If you live by this idea, it will make a big difference in how you work and perform whether it is around the house, on stage, or around the world. Whatever you do, work joyfully for the Lord. Remember, last week I said to have an attitude of gratitude.

The problem is if you don't enjoy your job. Some people don't while some people look forward to getting up every morning. Again, it all goes back to your attitude. The important thing to realize is that whatever we're doing is for the Lord. We witness to others sometimes without even noticing it. Therefore, we are his servant. Work for the Lord everyday because God rewards us in the end.

One of favorite songs by Brooke Fraser is "Shadowfeet."

P.S. If you have trouble with the video stopping and starting, keep the video paused, and let it "buffer" (load) as it's called for a while. You will see the red bar along the bottom advance (speed depends on your Internet connection). Wait until that bar gets pretty far along (I'd say more than halfway) before you play the video and it shouldn't pause.
