Defining Servanthood.

Matthew 24:45-46
45 “A faithful, sensible servant is one to whom the master can give the responsibility of managing his other household servants and feeding them. 46 If the master returns and finds that the servant has done a good job, there will be a reward.

I know I've been talking about serving others and thus serving God lately. There's at least one point though that I'm not sure I've emphasized enough...

Becoming a servant is necessary in order to receive fulfillment in our lives. Not just any servant, but the servant of our master - the Lord. If you serve the world it's going to offer you a phony fulfillment. The attempt to be fulfilled by the world will never occur.

Mark it on your agenda...to serve God! This should be an everyday practice. If we act faithfully toward God's will, then he will do what he wants with us and even what we have in mind. We will be blessed.

As a servant of God, we have a great advantage: We can access his power and see his power first hand. It's not a "pay-per view" type deal. It's free!!! It just requires giving God our time.

"One of the great underlying principles governing our life is service. Most of us have to work, but do we serve? Do we work in a spirit of service? Do we work for Life and our fellows? Or do we merely work for self, in order to make a living?"
~Henry T. Hamblin

Here's a good cartoon that represents what was just mentioned about master servanthood...
