Titus 2:11-14
11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. 12 It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
Not too many things are free in this day and age. In fact, prices have gone up on many hot commodities, such as gas and groceries. Virtually the only thing that's free is God's gift of salvation. Being completely human, there is nothing that we can do to deserve salvation. Similarly, there is nothing we can do to lose such a gift.
Does that mean we should walk aimlessly through life? Absolutely not. We need to understand God's grace, forgiveness, and offerings. We need to appreciate Jesus for his eternal gift of salvation everyday.
We can show this appreciation by of course praising God. However, this gratitude can also be shown by doing as God would do and loving others. Always treat others fairly. Finally, don't separate from God. How could you and why would you do that to yourself?
Think about this: If you've given God lots of glory, how has it impacted your life? What more can you do to appreciate God's sacrifice?
