Show and Tell - Love Your Neighbor.

Colossians 4:5-6
5 Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. 6 Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.

"Actions speak louder than words" and "All talk" are phrases that convey the idea that saying you love your neighbor doesn't do the justice that showing you love your neighbor does. You can tell your neighbor, Bob, that you are sympathetic for the conditions he is enduring. However, if you never do anything to help Bob, how much of a help are you?

Don't get me wrong, generous and THOUGHTFUL words sure a go a long way. You can certainly love your neighbor with your words. Even from personal experiences, we know positive words can really have an impact. Kind words like "Good job" make us feel good. After all, nothing really had to be said. They wanted to praise your work.

Nonetheless, I think we need a balance of words and actions to show that we love our neighbor. There are many opportunities to love your neighbor. Do it today and "make the most of the opportunity."
