A Call to Holy Living.

1 Peter 1:13-16
13 So think clearly and exercise self-control. Look forward to the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world. 14 So you must live as God’s obedient children. Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn’t know any better then. 15 But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. 16 For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.”

Can you say an adjective that describes Jesus? I would say amazing? Wouldn't you hope he could say the same thing about us. Well, it takes some work but all you have to do is do some holy living!

When you look at Jesus, he's part God, part man. It's simply amazing to see a God in flesh. Jesus is God! If you're not sure if God likes what you're doing, then look at Jesus. Would Jesus think hurting someone is holy, for example? No, so then God wouldn't be happy if you hurt someone. If you loved your worst enemy, for example, would Jesus consider that holy? Since the answer is yes, God is beaming.

He showed us the way. He showed us what was right. You don't have to question what God expects from you. Therefore, imitate God and Jesus!

Suggestions on how to imitate God and Jesus:
-Pray in an isolated place WITH God.
-Read, know, and learn the scripture.
-Be grateful for what you have.
-Be caring and loving to everyone around you.
-Speak the truth

Do those and you're well on your way! It's really important. In fact, look back at September 17 where I talked about the same thing. You may be reminded of some points I didn't bring up here. Happy Holy Living! God Bless and Good Luck!
