Now Serving...Number 1.

Mark 10:43-45
43 But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, 44 and whoever wants to be first among you must be the slave of everyone else. 45 For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Through the world's eyes serving is seen as a way to get attention. People gain power so that they can be served...the attention is focused on themselves, remember. They do this so they don't have to follow anyone's will but their own.

Through Jesus' eyes serving is seen in a completely different manner. Those that are mighty and powerful are the ones that serve others. Those that are willing to stand before God. Those people also listen to what God has to say and follow his will. They do this by sacrificing and pretty much giving away their lives.

How do you define a servant? Whose side are you on...the world's or Jesus'? Consider being a leader. Set a good example. Let the world follow you in serving the way Jesus wants his people to live. Ask God to help you today with good leadership skills.

"...[There's] no way anybody can win except by serving the people's urgent needs.
We cannot stand still or slip backwards. We must go forward now together." ~Gerald Ford
