'Tis the Season...for Giving.

Luke 6:38
38 Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.

A few weeks ago I talked about giving. Well we're still in that season. Christmas is coming and it's nice to take someone a gift, who is in a nursing home or hospital, for example. You can never give too much.

It doesn't even have to be anything big, it can be something small. It's really the thought that counts, not the quality. You can sit and chat with someone who doesn't get many visitors. You can smile and laugh with them. You can even just lend a helping hand and take care of some things for someone. No matter what, it will be special if your giving comes from your heart this holiday season. As Christmas approaches, try to appreciate what you have, instead of what you don't have. If you can give something this holiday, you get bonus points (from God of course)! Whatever you do give, you will be blessed in numerous ways.

Somehow, not only for Christmas,
But all the long year through,
The joy that you give to others,
Is the joy that comes back to you.
And the more you spend in blessing,
The poor and lonely and sad,
The more of your heart's possessing,
Returns to you glad.
~John Greenleaf Whittier

I will be in Tennessee for the next week, so don't expect any posts for the next week. Come back and for them again starting December 29th. In the meantime, I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah or whatever you celebrate...be safe!
