Discipline is Key.

Proverbs 3:11-12
11 My son, do not despise the LORD's discipline
and do not resent his rebuke,
12 because the LORD disciplines those he loves,
as a father the son he delights in.

Discipline is a very important quality in all walks of life. It doesn't matter where you are. If there was no discipline, there would be utter chaos, at least in this country. Think, no traffic laws!

With that said, discipline helps keep us out of our worldly desires. You know, those that make us lazy and sinful. When we get like this, we also don't want anything to do with having boundaries or limitations. In our mind, these boundaries and limitations may make sense, but we don't have any thought of doing such a thing because we so often thrive off of our own desires.

In the meantime, God disciplines us in a loving manner. He uses his loving discipline to bless us. Have you thought of him doing this as a way to show his caring and compassionate nature for us? Think, when someone with more wisdom, like your parents, made a suggestion to you, a lot of times it's about discipline and it's usually because they've been through the same type of thing themselves and care about you so much.

God loves you and he cares about you. He is more than happy to show you discipline because he doesn't want us to remain stagnant with no gain. Instead, he wants us to grow and prosper and become a motivated individual. His goal for us is to be closer to Jesus Christ.

While you may not be too keen on the whole discipline idea on the surface, deep down it probably seems reasonable and you should realize it's for your spiritual well-being.

The quotes are back? I think!
"Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishments."
