Lift Up Your Eyes.

Psalm 123
1 I lift up my eyes to you,
to you whose throne is in heaven.
2 As the eyes of slaves look to the hand of their master,
as the eyes of a maid look to the hand of her mistress,
so our eyes look to the LORD our God,
till he shows us his mercy.
3 Have mercy on us, O LORD, have mercy on us,
for we have endured much contempt.
4 We have endured much ridicule from the proud,
much contempt from the arrogant.

It's short, sweet, and to the point. Psalm 123 may be brief, but it is full of wisdom. It is often the smallest passages that really can be inspirational and be concise enough to give us some important messages. Psalm 123 says that we're servants! Not many people want to believe that statement because they want to personally be in the center of their life and have everything revolve around them.

I pray that one day you realize that it's an absolute privilege to be servant of God. Of course we don't deserve it, but thank God for us mercy anyway! As a result, Christ is on our side and lets us rise up into the position of a servant.

What is there to lose? Worldly friends who don't support you? Are you confident that God provides everything for you? This is important to realize because nobody is perfect. We are born sinful, but through Christ we are saved!

Often we fall down pleading for forgiveness and mercy from God. We don't want to be eternally condemned. How does this work then? We're not perfect until we're in heaven with the Lord, so... Well, Jesus died for us! When we cry out for God's mercy sincerely, then God doesn't see our sin. Instead, God envisions the blood of Christ. He knows your heart.

This is a wonderful gift from God. This grace and mercy is something we don't deserve at all. God could have left everyone to be condemned, but he sent his Son to save his people so that we could all be with him. What an honor! We're never worthy. However, we go to God out of humility. God, give us your mercy to take us away from our sins today!
