As White As Snow.

Isaiah 1:18
18 "Come now, let us reason together,"
says the LORD.
"Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool.

This is one of the most beautiful passages with regard to color imagery that I've seen in some time. It provides so much comfort on this Friday!

I think snow is a majestic image to see (at least the few times I've seen it). Some people who've lived in it for years wouldn't think so. Either way, you can't tell me it doesn't make for a great picture! After all, no two snowflakes are alike. It's fascinating to think that God makes something with so much care. And you're no different!

Snow serves as a symbol for salvation in the Bible. During ancient times, these crimson and scarlet colors described here were produced by a worm. It was a powerful liquid that stained anything it touched.

So, even if sin penetrates your life, and nothing seems capable of removing it, well, think in again, because that's where God comes into play. When God makes you white as snow, think of how much you would shine through the blood of Christ! Everyone can notice God in you when this happens.

Oh, Lord, wash me pure as snow. Get rid of all things unholy. Wash me and make me whiter than snow so that I can shine and do all things as you would.

Listen to the song "White As Snow" by U2. It's a slow song, but think about the words from Isaiah and be blessed with it in your mind today.

P.S. If you have trouble with the video stopping and starting, keep the video paused, and let it "buffer" (load) as it's called for a while. You will see the red bar along the bottom advance (speed depends on your Internet connection). Wait until that bar gets pretty far along (I'd say more than halfway) before you play the video and it shouldn't pause.
