Do Not Repay Evil for Evil.

Romans 12:17-21
17 Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable. 18 Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone.

19 Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say,
“I will take revenge;
I will pay them back,”
says the Lord.

20 Instead,
“If your enemies are hungry, feed them.
If they are thirsty, give them something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap
burning coals of shame on their heads.”

21 Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.

1 Thessalonians 5:15
15 See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to each other and to all people.

It is so easy to take revenge on somebody. They do something nasty to you and you think it's okay to do the same right back at them. It's human nature so it must be right. Think again because scriptures tell us not to. The golden rule says: "Treat others how you want to be treated."

Instead take a step back, look at the big picture, and think about what you can do to create peace. Defeat those revengeful visions that may pop into your head. Maybe you can talk to that person and sort things out. Just be honest. In reality, we all say or do something to hurt others. Try your best to create a peaceful atmosphere between people. We must do good to others. It's much better than being enemies forever.

Pray to God that when someone shows you evil, you can be reminded to conquer evil and do the Godly thing -- respect them.

I'll talk more about evilness and enemies tomorrow. The two days after tomorrow I will talk about compassion and kindness.

Great point, in fact we don't think about that point enough.
